SYNOPSIS

Lycra, lace, and liquor flow freely at one of the Sunset Strips last legendary venues, a place where sex machine Stacee Jaxx takes the stage and scantily clad groupies line up to turn their fantasies into reality. Amidst the madness, aspiring rock star (and resident toilet cleaner) Drew longs to take the stage as the next big thing (and longs for small-town girl Sherri, fresh off the bus from Kansas with stars in her eyes). But the rock 'n' roll fairy tale is about to end when German developers sweep into town with plans to turn the fabled Strip into just another capitalist strip mall. Can Drew, Sherri and the gang save the strip – and themselves – before it's too late? Only the music of hit bands Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake and more hold the answer.

SYNOPSIS

In this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, performers get the chance to pay homage to the people and songwriters who’ve made the theatre what it is today, while lovingly poking fun at the crazy craft that is musical theatre. From a hysterical parody of Stephen Sondheim's challenging and complex score from Into the Woods, called "Into the Words", to opportunities for performers to learn about and embody the personas of big-time Broadway stars from the Golden Age of theatre like Chita Rivera, Barbara Streisand, and Carol Channing, to laugh-out-loud dance sequence numbers taking audiences through the routines of the over-the-top choreographers like Bob Fosse, this is one show you won't want to miss out on!

ALL ROLES ARE OPEN FOR THIS PRODUCTION

Star Royale Theatre is an inclusive environment and everyone is welcome to audition.

There is something for EVERYONE in this show - so come out and have some fun and learn more about the history of the Broadway Musical through the years and the people that made it what it is today!

"Headliner" Roles (with Entire One-Person Scenes):

"Star Turns" like Chita Rivera, Liza Minelli, Carol Channing, and Barbara Streisand, and Mandy Patinkin

Impersonator Roles:

Featured solos requiring actors to portray famous celebrities like Stephen Sondheim, John Travolta, Harvey Fierstein, Ethel Merman, TIm Curry, Idnia Menzel, and more!

Ensemble/Chorus

Every star needs a chorus of backup singers and dancers, and in this show, they are their own stars on stage. Whether its over-exaggerating Fosse's Chicago choreography, or being singing waiters for Carol Channing's Hello Dolly, there's always something for the Ensemble to do!

PLEASE NOTE: There is a high probability that actors and actresses will be playing more than one named or unnamed role during the show, as well as being in the ensemble during songs they are not singing a solo. The show may also be double cast.
